Accessibility Statement for American Warriors Foundation
The American Warriors Foundation ("we," "us," or "our"), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Kansas, is dedicated to serving and honoring American warriors, including veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families. We are committed to making our website, amwarriorsfdn.org (the "Website"), accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities, in support of our mission and values of inclusion.
What web accessibility is
Web accessibility refers to the practice of designing and developing websites, applications, and digital content so that they can be used effectively by everyone, including people with disabilities. The goal is to ensure that individuals with visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, or other impairments can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with online content without barriers. It’s about inclusivity—making the web a resource that works for all users, regardless of their abilities or the tools they use to access it.
Limitations
While we work to ensure full accessibility, some areas of the Website may not yet be fully compliant due to technical constraints, legacy content, or third-party content. Specifically, certain features—such as donation forms, embedded videos, or external links provided by third-party vendors—may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards because they are outside our direct control. We are actively working to mitigate these issues by selecting accessible third-party tools where possible and providing alternative access options (e.g., phone or email support). We welcome your feedback to help us address these limitations.
Our Commitment
We strive to ensure that the Website meets or exceeds the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, a widely recognized standard for digital accessibility. These guidelines help make our content usable for people with visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, or other disabilities.
Steps We’ve Taken
To promote accessibility, we have:
Designed the Website with clear navigation, readable fonts, and sufficient color contrast.
Provided text alternatives (e.g., alt text) for images and non-text content.
Ensured compatibility with screen readers and keyboard navigation.
Tested the Website with accessibility tools and user feedback to identify and address barriers.
Ongoing Efforts
Accessibility is an ongoing priority. We regularly review and update the Website to improve usability, incorporating feedback from users and advancements in accessibility standards. If we use third-party tools or content (e.g., donation platforms), we aim to select providers that align with accessibility best practices.
Limitations
While we work to ensure full accessibility, some areas of the Website may not yet be fully compliant due to technical constraints, third-party integrations, or legacy content. We are actively addressing these issues and welcome your input to help us improve.
